Carter Engineering Services Facility

Engineering & Upgrades

Facilities and their power requirements change. When they do, the answer goes beyond maintenance. Carter’s Engineering Services group modernizes and redesigns electrical and control systems so power infrastructure keeps pace with the operation.

Built on Deep Expertise

Carter’s engineering group operates from a 10,000+ sq ft facility combining office, lab, shop, and warehouse space. Carter’s engineering specialists bring a combined 289 years of industry experience — averaging more than two decades each — in controls, switchgear, marine, industrial, and building automation. The group designs, fabricates, and tests solutions in-house, and produces control upgrade kits used by Cat dealers across North America.

How These Projects Unfold

  1. 1
    Assessment & Consultation

Carter’s engineers evaluate the existing system alongside the facility’s operational requirements. Customers often arrive with a solution in mind; the assessment determines whether that solution fits the actual problem.

  2. 2
    Design & Submittal

Carter’s engineering group develops the upgrade approach and prepares documentation for review. For regulated facilities, this includes formal submittal to the customer’s engineers before work begins.

  3. 3
    Production & Pre-Testing

Control panels, electrical components, and custom assemblies are built and tested in Carter’s facility before they reach the site. What arrives has already been verified to function.

  4. 4
    Installation, Commissioning & Handoff

On-site implementation within the existing system, followed by full commissioning — all failure modes and functions tested under operating conditions. The project closes with documentation and customer training.

Ready to Solve a Problem?

Carter’s engineering group can assess the situation and develop a path forward — whether you’re evaluating a controls upgrade, planning a switchgear modernization, or facing a problem that hasn’t found a solution elsewhere.
